The event took place at the Sonnenhof Hotel in Suceava and began with a warm welcome and the introduction of partner delegations.
The highlight of the first day was the welcome by Ion Lungu, the Mayor of Suceava, who emphasized the project's importance for the community. Dan Dura, the project manager of Suceava Municipality, delivered an inspiring keynote address that outlined the project's goals and its significance for the region.
Following a coffee break, informative presentations on best practices in Suceava took place. Gabriel Crap, Head of the Environmental Remediation Division of Suceava Municipality, explained the importance of reducing resource consumption, minimizing waste, and extending the lifespan of materials. Gabriel Petruc, CEO of SC TPL Suceava, introduced an eco-friendly public transportation system in the city.
On the second day, an electric bus waited for us and brought us to our first site visit to the recycling facility in the surroundings of Suceava. We learned about the way, household and construction waste is treated and which bottlenecks still need to be solved.
A second stop was made at the construction site of a big and renomated high school in Suceava.
Dan Dura (Suceava Municipality) emphasized the importance of energy efficiency in public buildings.
The meeting build a significant step toward exchanging and promoting sustainable practices in the construction sector. All project partners left Suceava with a lot of inspiring ideas in mind and a concrete strategy to continue sharing their knowledge and experiences and work together towards a better future.
