PANNON BUSINESS NETWORK TO TAKE PART IN A NEW EIT-FUNDED PROJECT FOR BOOSTING INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Pannon Business Network is happy to announce that it will be taking part in a new project called EcoAction.
The project intends to leverage institutions’ entrepreneurial and innovation knowledge models through a geographically and economically varied alliance of five cooperating universities and two leading technology transfer companies. The project, based on a methodical and structured collection of practice-proven concepts, will strengthen entrepreneurial competencies of participating universities and energise hundreds of companies through their direct cross and interconnection in the partnership’s catchment area. Together, the interconnecting strategic objectives – improving institutional excellence, efficiently facilitating companies and start-ups, and extending impact to the region – will leverage the influence beyond the local ecosystem.

The project will receive funding from the EIT HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education. This initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) aims to boost the entrepreneurial and innovation capacity of higher education institutions (HEIs) across Europe.

As part of this project, we will be working together with the following partners:

Associated partners:

  • South Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce (Finland)

  • South Ostrobothnia Entrepreneurs (Finland)

  • Wirtschaftsförderung Nordschwarzwald GmbH (Germany)

  • CyberForum E.V (Germany)

  • Startup Ökosystem Nordschwarzwald (Germany)

  • Vas County Scientific Educational Association (Hungary)

  • Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Hungary)

  • Scientific Association of Mechanical Engineering (Hungary)

  • Business Association of Beira Baixa (Portugal)

Under the EIT HEI Initiative, the project will receive funding of € 1200 and it will run until December 2022, with the possibility of getting extended for 18 more months.

Stay tuned for more information about this project in the coming months!

About the EIT HEI Initiative

The EIT HEI Initiative is a key objective for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology as part of its new strategy. The initiative aims to support HEIs with expertise and coaching, access to the EIT innovation ecosystem, the largest in Europe,  and funding, enabling them to develop innovation action plans complementing the needs of individual HEIs. This is the EIT HEI Initiative’s second call for proposals, following the success of the 2021 Pilot Call. So far, the initiative has provided funding to nearly 50 projects. The next call for proposals is expected towards the end of 2022.
