The EIT Manufacturing Co-Location Centre East and the Vienna Business Agency have designed a new programme for start-ups and scale-ups in the manufacturing industry in Central and Eastern Europe: Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition.
With this programme, the organizers invite young companies to Vienna to discover and explore the city’s industry and start-up ecosystem. Up to 10 start-ups can get one of the hot tickets and will on top of that receive two months of business coaching and mentoring from the EIT Manufacturing experts.
Vienna is well-known as the most liveable city in the world, because of its human-centred approach in designing all major areas in the city, be it economy, education, transportation, digitalisation and many more. The Austrian capital has a long-lasting history in manufacturing innovation. With over 8,500 companies creating over 12,3 billion EUR revenue, the manufacturing sector enables future-oriented jobs and drives growth and innovation in the city. Vienna has also established itself as a central European start-up-hotspot with high attractiveness to innovative founders from Austria and abroad.
With their new programme “Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition”, EIT Manufacturing CLC East and the Vienna Business Agency give up to 10 start-ups from central and eastern European countries the chance to participate in a two-weeks intensive programme in the Austrian capital. In November 2021, the young founders will be invited to Vienna to explore the domestic industry scene and the local start-up ecosystem. During the stay, the programme will contain networking opportunities with start-ups and potential investors, company visits to key industry partners, meetings with corporates and info sessions about funding opportunities and latest technology. On top of this, the participants will receive business development training and investment readiness mentoring.
During their stay in Vienna, EIT Manufacturing CLC East provides the start-up representatives with free office space; the costs for traveling to and from Vienna as well as for accommodation will be covered by the organizers. All winners additionally receive two months of start-up mentoring from the EIT Manufacturing team and international visibility and publicity on the communication channels of the organizers. The participation in Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition can be an entry point to the EIT Manufacturing funding opportunities and will allow the start-ups access to the CLC East partner network.
