PBN at the Heart of Healthy Ageing: Highlights from the NOTRE Project Days and European Silver Day in Hauts-de-France
From June 24–26, 2025, PBN, as the Lead Partner of the NOTRE Interreg Europe project, took part in a dynamic and insightful three-day programme in Hauts-de-France. The event, organized by the French project partners Eurasanté and the Hauts-de-France Region, combined strategic project discussions, interactive training, regional insights, and culminated in the high-level European Silver Day – a flagship European event dedicated to innovation in the Silver Economy.
DAY 1 – June 24, 2025: Project Meeting & Regional Exchange
The event kicked off with a NOTRE project partner meeting, warmly welcomed by representatives of the Joint Secretariat. All partners reviewed the current project status, achievements to date, and next steps for ensuring continued progress and impact.
In the afternoon, participants gained deeper insight into how the Hauts-de-France region is addressing the challenges of demographic transition. Partners from other regions also shared updates on their local activities and reflections, creating a valuable exchange of practices, experiences, and future plans within the NOTRE partnership.
DAY 2 – June 25, 2025: Training & Field Visits
The second day focused on capacity building with a training session led by ECHAlliance. The session, titled “How to Translate the Approach into Practical Steps for Start-ups and SMEs”, offered tools and practical guidance for supporting innovation in the Silver Economy at local and regional levels.
In the afternoon, the group visited two outstanding examples of practical innovation:

- HMS Vilgo – a site visit to this industrial player producing advanced mobility and care equipment for elderly users. The tour highlighted how manufacturing innovation can directly support independence and quality of life.
- Maison Lill’Âges – at this showroom, participants explored housing and care solutions tailored to the needs of older adults, including smart design features and supportive technologies.
These visits provided a real-world context to the project’s objectives and showcased successful business models already active in the market.
DAY 3 – June 26, 2025: European Silver Day & NOTRE Mid-Term Conference
The third day was dedicated to the European Silver Day, which also served as the Mid-Term Conference of the NOTRE project. Organized by Eurasanté and the Hauts-de-France Region, the event welcomed stakeholders from across Europe: startups, researchers, policymakers, healthcare providers, and investors.

Highlights of the day included:
- A keynote by Benjamin Zimmer, CEO of Silver Alliance, on “Investing & Entrepreneurship in the Silver Economy: Success Factors and Pitfalls to Avoid”.
- Testimonials from three European CEOs (Reumed – France, Ovio – Serbia, Claire Medical Solutions – Italy), who shared honest reflections on what works and what doesn’t in the field.
- An institutional roundtable on the future of healthy ageing in the Hauts-de-France region.
- A CforC workshop exploring how to make eldercare careers more attractive and visible.
- A networking lunch, pre-scheduled B2B meetings, and an Innovation Gallery showcasing 20+ concrete solutions supporting ageing well.
These three days clearly demonstrated the value of transnational collaboration and shared learning. As the NOTRE project moves into its next phase, PBN remains committed to driving innovation for healthy ageing, supporting regional transformation, and fostering policy change across Europe.
