Hello Szombathely program

The Hello Szombathely program series is implemented within the framework of the TOP-7.1.1-16-H-ESZA-2020-01683 project, called “Let’s go together on the amber road of digitalization”.
 

About the Hello Szombathely program

The Hello Szombathely project contains a series of programs with 5 elements, targeting every generation of the City of Szombathely and surrounding settlements.
The project elements are focusing on digitalization and the aim of the program is to raise awareness in transfer knowledge about digital technologies and to develop digital literacy among interested.
Our mission is to help the inhabitants of the city to be aware of the opportunities offered by modern technologies and be able to take full advantage of them.
 
Elements of the program

Digitalization education, for each generation in their own language
  • Experience-based digital skills development of students:
During the program series - consisting of 10 events - children and youth can learn about the daily usage of advanced digital technologies.
 
Students have the opportunity to learn about 3D technologies, robotics, sensor technology, and extended reality-based solutions at skills development and career orientation sessions.
 
  • Digital skills development of young adults:
The program will also be organized 10 times for adults, where participants can learn about the advanced digital tools of their age, which determine the trends of innovation.
 
At the events aimed at developing the skills of the employees, the technology and tools of 3D modeling, printing, and scanning, the connection between product development and data collection and analysis, robotics, AR, and VR tools will be presented and tested.
During the events the following topics will be presented to the participants:
- technologies and tools of 3D modeling and 3D printing,
- the connection between product development and - data collection.
- robotics
- AR, VR
 
  • Developing digital literacy for elderly:
Getting acquainted with smartphones, computer technologies, and the Internet - which is challenging for the elderly - in the framework of the program series. In addition to knowledge transfer, digital solutions for the elderly will be presented in the skills development program.
 
The events will take place in the digital innovation hub of Pannon Business Network Association – called am-LAB at pre-announced dates.
 
Team competition between secondary school students – The Future of Szombathely
 
In the area of digitization and environment, a project task will be solved by teams of 2-3 students, so that the participating students develop both their digital abilities and their sensitivity to the environment, thus including them in community-building activities.
The candidate teams have to visualize “The Future of Szombathely,” with appearing mandatory elements. “

Tourist App – Extended Reality-based Adventure along Amber Road:
 
Within the framework of the program, and educational tourism application, named Hello Szombathely will be created, which attracts visitors to the sights of the city. The player will be asked to search for points- placed in the city, -where AR – extended reality – content, informational texts, videos, spectacular, contemporary elements, and images are displayed in the application using the player’s phone in the space. After viewing these points, the user earns points. When someone collects all the points, a surprise awaits them at the end of the game.

Implementation of the program

The entire program will be implemented between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021.
