Enhancing Multimodal Platforms, Inland waterways and Railways services Integration in Central Europe

Duration of the Project: 01. 03. 2011. – 31. 05. 2014.

Overall Objective: Concerning the freight transport, multimodal transport solutions are not yet much competitive compared to the road transport. The project aims at highlighting the policy and market initiatives to be taken to increase the competitiveness of intermodal transport solutions in the programme area, expecially concerning the cross-border routes and the full exploitation of the inland waterways transport potential. After the monitoring of the existing infrastructures supporting the comodality and the mapping of the existing intermodal services, the partnership will identify action plans, policy initiatives and further joint actions to increase the competitiveness of the intermodal transport solutions.

Activities of PBN: Survey of the Hungarian situation concerning the multimodality; Coordination of the Strengthening the competitiveness of intermodal solutions and services; Coordination of Business café meetings; Make the intermodal transport solutions more attractive in Hungary.
