WOOD INCUBATOR CENTER FOUNDED
BIGIMP Ltd. obtained a subsidy on the tender of New Széchenyi Plan, Western Transdanubia Operational Programme (NYDOP) for the foundation of a Wood Incubator Center. The construction work commenced in May 2011, the foundation stone took place on May 12th. The investment was completed in September 2011 for about 200 million Hungarian Forint.
As a regional economic development organization, PBN is constantly striving Western Hungarian micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises to strengthen their economic role, explore opportunities and enhance the operational framework. In this way of thinking, we have undertaken the project management tasks in the creation of Wood Incubator Center of BIGIMP Ltd. in Zalaegerszeg (Hungary).
The project supports his ground that the timber industry and the related companies are particularly important in the city and the
region. This trend may continue in the future, because 16-17% of the country's forest area is situated in Zala County. The main operators, enterprises here are related to the timber industry.
The aim of BIGIMP Ltd.´s project is to implement a wood oriented incubator center on a usable area of 1213 m2. As the result of the investment 5 workshops, 5 offices and a warehouses with about 500 m2 are constructed with the associated parking facilities, and social blocks.
Besides the infrastructure investment, BIGIMP Ltd. provides complex additional services to the tenants.
The target audience of the incubator center are the timber industry related enterprises in Zalaegerszeg and in the neighbourhood, suppliers, starting timber enterprises, companies are in need of modern business environment, and all those whose wood production or supply activities are not bound up by the city's central location. The total eligible project budget is 178,019,520 forint which is nearly 70% subsidy intensity and 124,613,660 forint non-refundable subsidy.
With supporting professional recruitment and educational purposes BIGIMP Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with a wood industry training school, Deák Ferenc Secondary School, the Pannon Wood and Furniture Industry Cluster, and the University of West Hungary Faculty of Wood Science and Engineering.
